He was predeceased by: his wife Patsy Laverne Harkey; his parents, James Andrew Harkey and Mercedes Coldwell Harkey; his grandson Brandon Harkey; and his brothers, James R Harkey and Michael R. Harkey.
He is survived by: his children, Theresa Harkey Lusk, Sheri Barton (Larry), Glenda Harkey Norton and David Bennett Harkey, Jr.; and his grandchildren, Michael Harkey, Shana McCormack, Amy Duncan, April Davis, David Norton, Jared Norton, Breann Harkey and Ashley Harkey. He is also survived by ten great-grandchildren; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
