He was predeceased by: his children, Frank James Pitre (June), Junius J. Pitre, Girdie P. Dupre and Gloria Key; his parents, Lawrence Joseph Pitre Sr. and Girdie R. Pitre; his siblings, Thaddeus Pitre, Ernest Pitre and Diana P. Crabtree; his grandsons, David Ollis Jr. and Larry Carlos Jr.; and his great grandchildren, Elijah Anthony and Treyce Nicole Bryant.
He is survived by: his sons, Micheal Pitre Sr. (Joanella) and James J. LeBouef (Keisha); his stepson Shane LeBouef (Juanita); his daughters, Carolyn McDaniel, Sandra Pitre (Kenny), Darlene Spot (Andrew), Brenda Lirette (Tony) and Marjie Ollis; and his sister Gloria Dugas. He is also survived by 35 grandchildren; and numerous great and great great grandchildren.
