He is survived by: his wife Ruth Rigby Eschete; his children, Darnell Eschete-Preston (Charlein), Lonny Eschete (Doreen), Audra Eschete (Nathan Pitre), Daniel Eschete and Alyson Trahan (Billy); his stepchildren, Wendy McClain (Charles) and Sam Sappington; his brother Carl T. Eschete (Ann); and the mother of his children Darlene Bergeron. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren.
