He was predeceased by: his father Wilson R. Chaney, Sr.; his stepmother Faye Chaney; his mother Lurline Mathery Kemp; his stepfather Arnold Kemp; his daughter Ellen M. Chaney; his brother Frank Murphy; his in-laws, Lawrence and Margaret Fremin; and his daughter-in-law Candy Chaney.
He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Fremin Chaney; his sons, Wilson R. "Trey" Chaney III and Troy Donovan Chaney (Gertrude); his grandson Troy "Donovan" Chaney Jr.; his sisters, Trudy LeBlanc and Patricia Murphy; and his adoptive daughter Charlotte Fabre. He is also survived by nieces, nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, March 28th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Rabenhorst Funeral Home East (11000 Florida Blvd, Baton Rouge, LA 70815). A funeral service was held on Saturday, March 29th 2025 at 12:00 PM.
