It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Robert Donald Gilbert (Baton Rouge, Louisiana), who passed away on December 19, 2021, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Margaret Ruth and H. C. "Tee" Gilbert; his sibling H. C. "Bert" Gilbert, Jr.; his spouse Beverly Ann Chambers; his sons, Donald and Gary; his daughters-in-law, Alicia and Lisa; and his grandchildren, Claire, Dylan and Madison Gilbert.
In consideration of the ongoing pandemic, the visitation and service will be held outdoors in the mausoleum area at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Paralyzed Veterans of America or the Wounded Warrior Project.
