She was predeceased by: her father James Brookshire; her husband Johnny Wilson Porter; her parent Augusta Hibler Smith; her siblings, Clifton Brookshire, George Brookshire and Bessie Mae Cyrus; and her niece Ava Susan Reed.
She is survived by: her children, John Emerson Porter, Joan Augusta Porter-Parker, Jennifer Renee Bradley, Jenious Lee Porter (Taneka) and Juanne Louise Porter.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, March 1st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Harts Chapel Baptist Church (340 Dupont Harts Chapel Rd, Poplarville, MS 39470).
Her leadership extended to becoming the Director of Vacation Bible School and Educational Fund where she made significant contributions to educational endeavors.
