He was predeceased by: his parents, Beatrice Johnson and Albert Hines, Sr.; his siblings, Earline "Pookie" Schultz, Earline "Early Bird" Smith and Isaac Hines; his niece Tiffany Renee Presley; and his nephews, Tyrone Schultz, Reginald Jackson and David Johnson.

He is survived by: his son Bishop J. L. DeCuir (Lady Angela); his niece Karen Jackson (Leroy); and his siblings, Albert Hines, Jr. (Patricia) and Evangelist Velma Johnson. He is also survived by ten nieces; four nephews; and a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family, and friends.
