Joel Safer Obituary

We are sad to announce that on October 9, 2024, at the age of 84, Joel Safer (Baton Rouge, Louisiana) passed away. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Joel Safer to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Nina Jarrett and Michael Safer, Sr.; and his brother Michael Safer, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Melanie McCain Safer; his children, Heidi Lane (Joey Lane), JJ Safer (Jodi Safer), Kelli Carpenter (Anne Steele) and Charles Carpenter (Kathleen Carpenter); his grandchildren, Geddy, Indie, Tippi Lane, Jack, Maggie Safer, Parker, Chelsea, Blake, Vivi O'Donnell, Abby and Mack Carpenter; and his former wife Joy Hodges Safer.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, October 15th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Christ Covenant Church (1700 Lee Dr, Baton Rouge, LA 70808). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, October 15th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Christ Covenant Church in Joel's memory.
