We are sad to announce that on January 2, 2022, at the age of 89, James Gilbert McMurry of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, born in Winnfield, Louisiana passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Aaron Justin McMurry and Grace Tullos McMurry; and his sister Justine McMurry Shaw. He is survived by: his wife Jeanette Wood McMurry; his children, James Gilbert "Gil" McMurry, Jr., Sarah McMurry Godwin (Keith) and Alan Justin McMurry (Elaina); his grandchildren, Ella Godwin Webb (Brian), Jason Godwin, Jack Godwin (Stephanie), Ben Godwin, Allie McMurry and Eryn McMurry; and his great grandchildren, William Webb and Luna Godwin.
