He was predeceased by: his parents, James Miranda, Sr. and Margaret Willis Funk; his grandparents, Elizabeth "Cookie" Bernhard and Robert Miranda; and his brother Billy Funk.

He is survived by: his wife Trula Olano Miranda; his daughters, Tricia Miranda Goynes and Tara Miranda Simpson; his grandchildren, Paige, Andrew, Jr., Brennan, Alexis and Alana Miranda; his great grandchildren, Jay Michael Gillard, Ian Antoine Miranda, Kynzli Goynes and Kashton Patin; his siblings, Rebecca Melikyan, F. Mark Funk, Chad Miranda and Robert Funk; and his godchildren, Derek Brown and Emily Frei-Funk. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
