She was predeceased by: her husband Oliver James Shook; her parents, Shepard Milton Bean and Evelyn Mae Coley Bean; her stepdaughter Olivea Suazo; her siblings, Ruth Bean, Bea Grange and George L. Bean; and her nephew George M. Bean.

She is survived by: her sons, Ronald L. Hoover (Sharon) and Floyd S. Hoover (Janice); her stepdaughter Susan Siler (Ron); her stepgrandsons, Joshua (Maylin), Nathan and Matthew; her stepson Daniel Shook (Linda); her stepgrandchildren, Wesley Smith and Katelyn Smith; her stepson David Shook (Cindy); her children, Kristen Woods, Heather Cooper and Stephen Cooper; her stepson-in-law Julian Ed Suazo; her sons, Jason Suazo (Stacey), Matt Suazo (Rakia) and Daryl Reinhardt (Jennifer); her nieces and nephews, Charles Grange (Rebecca), Paula Menge, Vickie Olsen, Ivy Starns (David), Laurie Gross (Greg) and Kim Bean (Alisa); her great-nieces and great-nephews, Elliott Sauvinet, Matthew Bean, Mia-Anne Bean and Seth McDonald; her friends, Brenda Blow, Suzanne Crain and Penny Sylvest; and her children, Cori and Tori. She is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers family and friends may make donations to Gospel Light Baptist Church on Highland Road in Baton Rouge.
