She was predeceased by: her parents, William Moses and Rebecca Moses; her husband Reverend David Cannon; her children, Juanita Cannon and Edward Cannon; her grandsons, Damon Gibson, Emeal Woods and Burnell Cannon Jr.; her great grandchild Skylarr West; her siblings, Rachel Sanders, Maybelle George, Ethel Mae Collins, Odeal George, Hattie Brown, Bernice Brown, Steve Moses, William Moses Jr., Clarence Moses, Eugene Moses, Sonny Collins Moses, Genie Mae Winters Moses and Lonnie Judson Moses; and her stepmother Celia Moses.
She is survived by: her children, Burnell Cannon, Odeal Vaughn-Muse (Porter Muse) and Mattie Gibson; her grandchildren, Karlena Richardson (Joseph Richardson), Nicole Martin, Cheyenne Cannon, Tracey Cannon, Lashawn Walker Collins, Johnny Jackson, Tonyala Wilson (Tranto Wilson), Ashley Vaughn (Spouse), Samuel Gibson, Erica Gibson, Andrew Woods and Jamal Cannon; and her sisters, Willie Mae Selvage and Geraldine Taylor. She is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Little Zion Baptist Church (1955 74th Ave, Baton Rouge, LA 70807). A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
