He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Caroline Postell Spurlock and Dr. Daniel Webster Spurlock, Jr.; and his brother C. E. Postell Spurlock. He is survived by: his wife Kathy Morrow Spurlock; his daughter Anne Morrow Spurlock Perrone (Jeffrey Perrone); his grandchildren, Kaylin and Grant; and his sisters, Mary Caroline (Barry Ancelet), Ann Logan (Tony Swearingen) and Frances (Steven Huggins).
