She was predeceased by: her parents, Rueben Leon and Ida Mae Mooneyham Smith; her children, Randy Brewer, Carol Watts and Susie Owens; and her siblings, Garvin, Reese, Charles Smith and Vera Petty.
She is survived by: her husband Phillip Pekins Sr.; her sons, Phillip Pekins Jr., Charles Pekins, David Brewer and Keith Pekins; and her siblings, Irene Saylor of Robert, J. M., Billy and David Smith. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, host of nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts are preferred, that will be used by the family to honor Betty's life and memory.
