With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Barbara Jean (Messenger) Sladick (Baton Rouge, Louisiana), who passed away on October 15, 2024 at the age of 81. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Richard Paul Sladick; her parents, Calvin Messenger and Nellie Rapp Messenger; her brothers, Wayne Messenger and Marshall Messenger (Cheryl); and her sister-in-law Michelle Messenger.
She is survived by: her great grandchild Sophia Forson; and also, Lara Sladick (Alex), Nicholas Forson, Christopher Forson, Nemean Sladick, Dartagn'an Sladick, Amber Sladick Boudreaux (Ella), Anna Sladick Newman (Ben), Heather (Logan), Connor, Scarlett, Carol Messenger and Eldon Jay Messenger (Kathy). She is also survived by nieces and nephews; cherished brother-in-law and sisters-in-law.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, November 29th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Unity Church of Christianity (15255 Jefferson Hwy, Baton Rouge, LA 70817).
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to support dementia research or any charity of choice that will honor Barbara's life and memory.
