The passing of Alex Black (Baton Rouge, Louisiana), born in Tallulah, Louisiana leaves a void in the hearts of many, as we bid farewell to a loving soul who departed on April 17, 2025 at the age of 84. He was predeceased by: his parents, Elbert Bascom Black and Mamie Guice Black. He is survived by: his wife Merilyn Williams; his sons, Brandon (Blake) and Barton (Esther); his grandchildren, Patrick, Frances, Clayton, Adele, Evan, Kirby, Stewart and Alex; his sister LaDean Dunbar (Robert); and his sisters-in-law, Jane Roussel (John) and Ava Williams Ellis. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 25th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the St Aloysius Catholic Church (2025 Stuart Ave, Baton Rouge, LA 70808). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, April 25th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, April 26th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Legion Memorial Cemetery.
