She was predeceased by: her parents, Mert Smith and Audette Smith; her husband Paul Benson; and her brothers, Lloyd Ray Smith and Harold E. Smith.
She is survived by: her daughters, Sherry Avitabile of Mer Rouge, LA and Ellen McCain (Harold) of Pearl River, LA; and her pet Rowdy. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 17th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Chapel of Golden Funeral Home (2016 E Madison Ave, Bastrop, LA 71220).
