He was predeceased by: his wife Gail Hughes; and his parents, Mart Hughes and Precious Hughes. He is survived by: his sister Sandra Harper; his nephews, James "Bodie" Cooper (Lisa) and Chad Harper (Dawn); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Candace Cooper, Jeremy Cooper (Anna), Jeri Harrington (Garrett) and Austin Harper (Michelle); and also, Journee "Monkey Butt", Slade, Stetson, Annleigh, Landri, Gentry, Elizabeth James and Spencer.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 23rd 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Chapel of Golden Funeral Home (2016 E Madison Ave, Bastrop, LA 71220). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 23rd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
