He was predeceased by: his parents, Gaston Dye and Annie Dye; and his siblings, John Thomas Dye, Gaston Eugene Dye, Harry Lee Dye, Bobby Dye, Jerry Doyle Dye, Kenneth Ray Dye and Peggy Joyce Dye.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Ann Dye; his children, Karen Dye Ledbetter (Woody), Joey Dye (Courtney) and Susan Dye Cobb (Kenny); his grandchildren, Simone Trahan McMillon (Michael), Kennen Cobb (Avery), Hanna Cobb Cannon (Jacob), John Randall Bennett (Amanda), Katie Cobb, Raie Garza, Abigail Dye, Anna Grace Dye and Riley Joe Dye; his great grandchildren, Stella Claire McMillon, John Keith Cannon, Cecilia Rae McMillon and Joseph Dye Cannon; his sisters, Diane Dye Ragus (Jerry), Sue Dye Rainbolt-Tatum and Toni Dye Barkley (Mike); his aunt Mildred Russell Barnhill; and his close friends, Mike Costello, Paul Fragala, George Lewis and A. P. Owens. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, December 18th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Cox Funeral Homes - Bastrop Chapel (611 N Washington St, Bastrop, LA 71220). A memorial service was held on Wednesday, December 18th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorials be made to the Louisiana Baptist Children's Home in Monroe, Louisiana or St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
