He was predeceased by: his parents, Essul Payton, Sr. and Molly Young Payton; his wife Lagatha Marie Ward; and his son Donnie. He is survived by: his siblings-in-law, Patricia Tharps, Helen Donaldson, Brenda Lee, Anthony Ward, Robert Ward (Patricia) and James Ward; his children, Belvelyn Combs of Bastrop, LA, Sharon Ann George of Pearland, TX, LaTora Dowles of Bastrop, LA and Chandra Payton Williams (Patrick); his grandchildren, Tarrus Williams, Amanda Wade, Albert Wade II, Tacorya Francois (Christopher), Jasmine Dowles, Shamika Wiggins (Jermaine), Christopher Khatri, Charles Butler, Corey Butler, Courtney Butler, Cyndi Butler, Payton Williams and Paige Williams; and also Demetria Branscomb Coleman. He is also survived by parents, twelve siblings, and son.
