He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Holley Patton and Mary Hannah Moore Patton; and his siblings, Mary Patton, Nancy Patton Croswell, Lila Patton Wolfe and Charles Hale Patton.
He is survived by: his wife Martha Ann Messinger; and his nieces and nephews, Joyce Croswell Hurst (Jerre), Donna Patton Defee (Rob), Charles Howard Patton (Cathy), Robert Patton and Clark Croswell.
