He was predeceased by: his son Jake James; his father Everett L. James; his sister Cathy Fontenot; and his brother-in-law Dalbert Fontenot. He is survived by: his children, Trent James, Darren Miller, Hailie LaBorde and Eden James; his mother Haidie Miller James; and his siblings, Gregory James (Shelly), Charles James, Janell Ashford (Kenneth), Cindy Smith (Duane), Evelyn LeBleu (Gary) and Madeline Battles (Kirk). He is also survived by six grandchildren.
