He was predeceased by: his stepfather Leon Laughlin; his granddaughter Nevaeh Melton; and his sister Mackey Bagley. He is survived by: his wife Mona Bushnell Melton of Basile; his parents, Jimmy Melton and Brenda Trahan Laughlin of Basile; his children, Samuel Brigham Deavers, Sr. (Rhiannon Heskett) of Dickson, TN, Christoper Melton of Sulphur and Erica Melton of Lake Charles; his siblings, Joseph Laughlin (Jennifer), Bobby Joe Laughlin (Christie) of Ragley, D. J. Bagley of Guthrie, OK and Felicia Melton Smith (Germaine) of Sulphur; and his grandchildren, Mia Deshotel and Samuel Deavers, Jr.. He is also survived by extended family and friends.
