He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Mixson Thornton, Sr. and Mable Christine Fouts Thornton; his siblings, Francille Schultz, Billy, Bobby, Norman, Joe and Randy Thornton; and his sister-in-law Addie Thornton.
He is survived by: his brother Melvin Thornton (Diane); and his sisters-in-law, Judy, Carolyn and Carrie Ruth Thornton. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
