He was loved and cherished by many people including: his brother Pineville Monday; his wife Bertha Inglis McVay; his parents, George A. Sr. and Mittie Bell Windham McVay; his siblings, Luke McVay, Hugh McVay, Wayne McVay, George A. McVay, Jr., Ethel Garner, Marie Daniels, Marilla Bond, Zarilla Echols and Geraldine Guillory; his children, Herman McVay, Jr., Greg McVay (Tonya), Kevin McVay (April) and Charlotte McVay Smith (Barry); his grandchildren, Lee Smith (Colbi, Derrick Smith), Cole Smith (Hannah, Dalton McVay), Megan McVay, Colton McVay, Faith McVay and Luke McVay; and his great grandchildren, Landyn, Brandon, Kiersten, Jaxson, Lillie and Levi. He was also cherished by husband, father, grandfather, loving time spent with family and especially his grandchildren.
The family has designated the Alzheimers Association of America, 3717 Government Street, Ste 7, Alexandria, LA, 71302, for memorial contributions.
