He was predeceased by: his mother Marion Gandy; his stepfather Louie Gandy; and his father Billy Hartman. He is survived by: his wife Ann McCullough Hartman; his son Chris Hartman (Shanna); his sisters, Donna Schultz and Pam Johnson; his grandchildren, Haylie, Madison, Ethan and Emma Hartman; and his close friend Bear.
