He was predeceased by: his parents, John B. Nichols and Alice May Allen Nichols; and his siblings, John B. Nichols, Jr., Billy Joy Nichols and Helen Mills Richard.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Ann Nichols; his sons, Mark Allen Nichols (Nancy Blackwell Nichols) and David Darrell Nichols (Cheryl Haire Nichols); his sister Betty Jo McLemore; his grandchildren, Katie Sillivan (Brandon), Andrew Nichols, Jacob Nichols and Tori Jones (Josh); and his great grandchildren, Tyson, Evelyn, Nolan Sillivan, Mills Jones and Oliver Bigby. He is also survived by other family members and friends.
