It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Doris Mertens (Ball, Louisiana), born in Alexandria, Louisiana, who passed away on May 23, 2019, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Bertha Milam and Bryant Milam; her husband Douglas Edwards Mertens; and her sons, Rodney Blane Mertens and Edward Lee Mertens.
She is survived by: her daughter Karen Jeanell Mertens Cash; her son-in-law Ernie Cash; her granddaughters, Natalie McCall (Joey McCall), Emily Rowe (Michael Rowe) and Miranda Cash; her great grandchildren, Austin Cash, Colton McCall, Lily Watts and Weston McCall; and her sister Betty Thornhill. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
