He was predeceased by: his wife Pauline "Polly" Honeycutt Welch; his parents, James "Pink" Welch and Bertha Welch; and his siblings, Willie Mae Foster, J. B. Welch, Earline Futrell and Nita Barnhart.
He is survived by: his children, Baxter Welch, Dexter Welch and Dot Brevelle (Clyde); his grandchildren, Cory Brevelle, Colin Brevelle (Jessica), Katie Thomson (Stephen), Kandie Bailey (Rob), Alan Welch, Kailee Landry (Seth), Logan Welch (Rebecca) and Chesney Mayeaux (Jarryd); and his great grandchildren, Ethan, Langston, Carson, Tyson, Christian, Landon, Rhett, Ramsey, Kennedy, Kallie, Sophia, Kinley, Kendal, Whitley and Mia.
