She was predeceased by: her parents, Annie Brooks Cooks and Roland Cooks; her siblings, Hammond Cooks Sr., Alvin Cooks, Roland Dan Cooks, Mildred Burney, Naomi Drexler, Eula Brown and Laura Jones; her sons, Lilton "Rudy" Cooks and Edwin Lewis; and her sons-in-law, Charles "Butch" Middleton, Donald Ray Richard Sr. and George Keys.
She is survived by: her children, Paxton Kern "P. K.", Johnell "Bubba" Lewis (Annie Mae Lewis) of New Iberia, LA, Rogers Lewis (Alice Lewis) of Houston, TX and Freddie Cooks of Baldwin, LA; and her goddaughter Elaine Jackson. She is also survived by 35 Grandchildren, 36 Great-Grandchildren, 31 Great-Great Grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins.
