He was predeceased by: his wife Willo Chedester Gibson; his daughter Desiree Gibson Denby; his parents, Betty Lois Gibson and Willie Gibson; his stepmother Louise Gibson; and his stepsiblings, Connie Lange, Sherry Boudreaux and William Steve Gibson.

He is survived by: his children, Kathy Latiolais (Danny) and Bobby Gibson Jr.; his daughter-in-law Mel Gibson; his stepchildren, Cindy Hebert, Kathryn Leger, Randall Leger and Sally Mistretta; his sister-in-law Carol Brumm; and his grandchildren, Jacqueline O'Niell, Aaron Latiolais (Brooke), Ariana Coaliron (Blake), Brynn Gibson, Denae Gibson, Mikelyn Starrett, Robert Leger, Mark Leger, John Satterfield, Shannon Bommarito, Austin Leger, Christina King, Jason Leger, Greg Leger, Stacey Ray, Dominic San Migual, Dr. Jessica Keller, Lance Leger and Levi Leger. He is also survived by numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
