He was predeceased by: his parents, Emmit Smith Alford and Isyel Manuade Smith Alford; and his sister Myra Jean Alford Wheeler. He is survived by: his wife Joy Parrish Alford; and his children, Roland Alford, Jr. (Lisa), Russell "Rusty" Alford, Gina Alford Blount (Keith) and Connie Alford Miller (Dwayne). He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
