He was predeceased by: his parents, William "Billy" L. Laney and Bernadine "Deanie" Dupont Laney; and his brother William Denton Laney. He is survived by: his wife Judy Boyd Laney; his children, Paul Laney (Laura), Melissa Laney, Brian Dedon (Kristen), Corey Dedon and Gerald Dedon (Leslie); his grandchildren, Sidney, Locke, Matt, Nick, Jacob, Avery and Liam; his sisters, Kay Laney Lambert (Rick) of Ventress and Debra Laney Smith (Dodd) of Ventress; and his sister-in-law Debbie Singleton Laney of Baton Rouge. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
