She was predeceased by: her parents, Wilber Daspit and Ida Giroir Daspit; her husband Donald D. McCants, Sr.; her son Donald D. McCants Jr.; and her siblings, Dorothy Boyd, LeEarl Griffith, Shirley Vicknair, Kenneth Daspit, George Thibodeaux, Hunter Chauvin, Hayden Chauvin, Hoytt Chauvin, Michael Williston and Dominic Williston.
She is survived by: her sons, R. Kevin McCants (Robin) of Baton Rouge and Stephen M. Omohundro (Jim) of Baton Rouge; her grandchildren, Laurie Thibodeaux (Trey) of Port Allen, Niki Hollands of Nashville, TN, Maggie Cremeens (Matthew) of Baton Rouge and Randall McCants (Casey) of Gonzales; and her great grandchildren, George, Haylie, Hunter, Hayden, Layla, Zuri, Hoytt, Gracie, Claire, Callum and Cameron.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 9th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Friday, January 10th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, January 10th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Isidore Catholic Church (5657 Thomas Rd, Baton Rouge, LA 70811).
