With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Juanita Cavin (Baker, Louisiana), who passed away on April 6, 2025 at the age of 76. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her mother Estelle Thornton; her husband Butch Gautreau; her father Elgen Thornton, Sr.; her son Mark Adam Teekel; and her siblings, Elgen Thornton Jr. and Marie Rayburn.
She is survived by: her sons, Alton Teekel, Jr. (Terry), Danny Teekel (Pam) and Shane Teekel (Georgette); her grandchildren, Dustin, Alton III, Brandon, Shane Lee, Tyler, Ryan, Allison, Joshua and Matthew Teekel; her great grandchildren, Braxton Teekel, Dani Achee and Oliver Sexton; and her siblings, Billy Wayne Thornton and Vivian Cavalier. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Viewing was held on Wednesday, April 9th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Baker Funeral Home (6401 Groom Rd, Baker, LA 70714). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 9th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Wednesday, April 9th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens (6213 Groom Rd, Baker, LA 70714).
