He was predeceased by: his wife Constance Osbourne Helmke; his parents, Henry Michael Helmke and Lillian Sevier Helmke; and his siblings, Henry "Michael" Helmke, Donald E. Helmke, Shirley Johnson Gremillion and Beverly Helmke Phenix.
He is survived by: his children, Lynelle Clair Meadows (James), Tracy Lea Kallies (Mark), Jeffory Wayne Helmke (Kurtal) and Jason Dane Helmke (Cindy); his grandchildren, Joshua Meadows, Lindsey Oosterveld (Tim), Mark Kallies, Jr. (Kristy), Jessica Helmke, Jared Helmke, Jake Helmke and Jana Helmke; his great grandchildren, Bailey Oosterveld, Jemma Meadows, Ryker Meadows, Alexander Kallies, Samantha Kallies and Allison Helmke; his sisters-in-law, Carolyn Barcelona Helmke and Claire Louis Cockerham Parish; his grandsons, Joshua Brandon Meadows, Mark Bruce Kallies, Jr., Catlin James Kallies, Jake Ryan Helmke and Jared Scott Helmke; and his great grandchild Gavyn James Meadows. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
