He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederick Steil and Ann Steil; his wife Ruth L. Steil; his siblings, Alan Steil and Joann Hamann; his son-in-law Darrell Tucker; and his granddaughters, Jessica Webb and Ashley Steil.
He is survived by: his children, Jean Steele (Samuel Steele) of Baker, LA, Mary Tucker of Kokomo, IN and Ricky D. Steil of Baton Rouge; his sister Carol Janssen of Charles City, IA; and his grandchildren, Joshua Nolan, Jennifer Avants, Sarah Foret, Samantha Waggenspack, Preston Tucker and Gene Troy Tucker. He is also survived by nineteen great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
