It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dorothey Jean McBride of Athens, Louisiana, born in Homer, Louisiana, who passed away on March 16, 2024, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, C. Rogers Rogers and Annie Covington Rogers (Collier McBride, Sr.); and her siblings, Fannie Allen, Curtis, Ernest and Ray Rogers.

She is survived by: her son Collier McBride, Jr. (CA); her granddaughters, Jewella Newlen and Kathy McBride Poston; her sister Carolyn Williams; and her great grandchildren, Blake Newlen and Trevor Poston. She is also survived by numerous other nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends.
