He was predeceased by: his wife Marie Thelma Lagrange; his parents, Ovide Speyrer and Melanie Quebedeaux; and his brothers, Frank Speyrer and Gabriel Speyrer.
He is survived by: his sons, Walter Speyrer, Jr. of Leonville and Gerald Speyrer (Mona) of Leonville; his sister Leticia Olivier of Grand Coteau; his grandchildren, Melanie Speyrer, Katie Speyrer Smith (Jody), Robin Speyrer, Kerry Speyrer, Lindley Speyrer, Angela Speyrer, Jill Speyrer Baker (Jason) and Mallory Speyrer; his great grandchildren, Britt Benoit, Kaleb Speyrer, Chloe Smith, Tate Smith, Gabe Speyrer, Keely Broussard, Demi Baker, Cullen Baker, Emma Champagne, Averi Speyrer and Sophia; and his great great grandchildren, Harper Benoit, Jayce Benoit and Blakely Domingue.
Due to the restrictions of the current COVID-19 pandemic limiting gatherings to 10 or fewer family members, a private service will be held for immediate family only.
