He was predeceased by: his wife Sue Pace Kennedy; his children, Rhonda Kennedy Polk and Danny Cibic; and his parents, Henry Jefferson Kennedy and Essie Martha Kennedy.
He is survived by: his children, Reginald Lee Kennedy (Melanie) and Kristie Kennedy Varnado (Lee); his son-in-law Lee Anthony Polk (Tony); his siblings, Betty Carr and Louie Kennedy; his sister-in-law Mavon Kennedy; his grandchildren, Jeffrey Polk, Theresa Roberts (Michael), Andy Polk, Rachel Powell (Mike), Jake Kennedy (Kelli), Jed Kennedy (Madison), Mary Genova, Anna Genova and Claire Varnado; and his great grandchildren, Cecile, James Powell, Ethan, Josiah Kennedy, Rowan, Rosemary Kennedy, Jacqueline Pace and Billy Leggett. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
