He was predeceased by: his parents, Everett Whittington and Alma Turner Whittington; his siblings, S. J., Sam, Leonard, Calvin Whittington, Sadie Wilkinson, Etta Rollinson, Mary Rollinson, Dorothy Nell and Faye Dunaway; and his daughter-in-law Bonnie Keene Whittington.
He is survived by: his wife Frances Leggett Whittington; his children, Marvin Tracy Whittington (Rose) and Betsy Penot (Arthur); his grandchildren, Jeanne Penot, Michelle Penot, Cathi Keene, Matthew Draughn, Michelle Lusk (Jessie), Michael Roy (Whitney), Matt Roy, Chad Roy, Chase Roy and Chris Roy; his great grandchildren, Jessie Paul Lusk, Maysie Lusk, Christopher Keene, Tristan Draughn, Rowyn Roy and Justin Ramos Penot; and his great great grandchild Kelslyn Gendusa. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
