He was predeceased by: his parents, Dan and Alvia Briggs, Sr.; and his siblings, Earl, Shelton Briggs and Gloria Briggs.

He is survived by: his siblings, Dan, Jr., Allen, Carl, Jerry Briggs, Audrey Williams, Dianna Wilson, Theresa Briggs and Joyce Smith; and his friend Coach Alden Foster.

Due to the surge in COVID-19 cases, a memorial service will be held at a later date.
