He was predeceased by: his parents, Madge H. Holmes and Oliver W. Holmes Sr.. He is survived by: his significant other Brenda W. Holmes; his son J. Wilks Holmes; his grandsons, Jackson Wilks Holmes and Jensen Wilks Holmes; and his siblings, Brenda H. May of Memphis and Oliver W. Holmes Jr. (Buddy) of Baton Rouge. He is also survived by 12 nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Tunnels to Towers Foundation at 2361 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, NY 10306; or to a charity of the donor's choice.
