He is survived by: his wife Judy Gladson Smith of Alexandria; and his children, Richard Smith, Jr. of Missouri, Carolyn Smith of Wyoming, David Smith of Mississippi, Douglas Smith of Colorado, Johnny Smith of Hawaii, Jackie Smith of Missouri, Megan Smith of New Orleans, Tammy Louvier of New Orleans and Eugene Whitford of Alexandria. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
