It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dorothy Marie Dousay of Alexandria, Louisiana, born in Glenmora, Louisiana, who passed away on May 20, 2024, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband William H. Dousay; her daughter Lawanda Ann Dousay; her parents, William B. Brooks (Mildred Morrison Brooks) and Clinton (Frankie Hughes); her brother Billy Wayne Brooks; and her sons-in-law, James D. Walker, Jr., Richard D. Smith, Rodney Teal and Harl Rodney Lewis.
She is survived by: her friend Dorothy; her daughters, Sheila O'Neal (Gary) of Oklahoma, Charlotte Dousay of LaCamp, Shonda Hemenway (Jeff) of Alexandria and Rhonda Ramsey (George) of Woodworth; her siblings, Buddy Bailey (Pam), Connie Campbell (Jessie), Bruce Brooks, Charles Brooks and Jeannie Highbaugh; her sister-in-law Jean Brooks; her grandchildren, Merissa Walker, Melissa Allen (Robert), Krista Corbitt (Nolan), Glenda Monceaux (Darrell), Jeri Gordon (Jerry), Brandi Austin (Phillip), Misty Akins, Dusty Dousay (Katelyn), Rocky Teal (Jamie), Stacy Lewis (Rodney) and Ranassa Smith (Monty); her great grandchildren, Jax Allen, Brennly Corbitt, Kalie, Caleb Akins, Courtlyn, Lynora, Max Dousay, Tyler Thacker (Hannah), Jacob, Matthew Thompson, Brooks Lewis, Mason and Landry Smith; and her great great grandchildren, Chanely, Jud Thacker and Oaklynn Thompson. She is also survived by her family, friends.
Marshalls was her favorite, and not even the challenges of COVID could dampen her spirit as she eagerly checked its status every day.
