With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Dorlis LaVerne Owens (Alexandria, Louisiana), born in Jonesville, Louisiana, who passed away on February 12, 2024 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Elbert Dyess and Etta Mae Dyess; and her brothers, Elwyn "Bookie" Dyess and Elwood Dyess. She is survived by: her son James Alan Owens (Amanda Veuleman Owens) of Austin, TX; her husband W. Alvin Owens of Alexandria, LA; her son Kim Owens; her grandchildren, Jeremy (Merrill), Erin, Eleanor and Evan; and her great grandchild Poppy.
