He was predeceased by: his parents, Barney Luther Atkins, Sr. and Levia Lilly Atkins; and his sister Ginger Parish. He is survived by: his wife Suzanne Atkins; his children, Barney L. "Luke" Atkins, III (Melissa), Nikki Pino (James), Christine Descant (Shane) and Alane Atkins; his grandchildren, Haylea Ewing, Jackson Descant, Justin Descant, Austin Descant, Taylor Pino and Brandon Pino; his great grandchild Navy Magalhaes; and his brother Bill Atkins.
