He was predeceased by: his parents, Willis Blackwell and Evelyn Blackwell; his brother Eugene Wallace Blackwell; and his brother-in-law John Scurlock. He is survived by: his wife Madeline Crochet Blackwell; his daughters, Laura Brown (Rodney), Sara Bezou (Jason) and Cary Clark; his siblings, Cathy Holland (Ardell), Patricia Scurlock, Margaret Blackwell, Willis Blackwell (Sheila) and Wilfred Blackwell; his grandchildren, Zachary Earnest Brown, Jillian Nicole Brown, Isabella Anne Theard Bezou, Elizabeth Crochet Bouligny Bezou and Katherine Plauche Beauregard Bezou; his nieces and nephews, Chris Blackwell (Ria), Tammy Kennair (Bruce), AJ Holland (Amanda), Jonathan Holland (Brittany), Kelli Watford (Jason) and Kacey Pourciau; and his sister Patti Scurlock.
