He is survived by: his wife Sarah Stewart Carter; his children, Melinda Delancey, Brandy Brecheen (Butch), Stacey Moore, Robert Gerald Carter II (Cleota) and Shane Hiram Carter (Amber); his grandchildren, Cecelia, Will, Krystyn, Stormie and Mason; and his brothers-in-law, Raymond Stewart (Theresa "Patsy") and Horace Ensign (Dorchelle). He is also survived by 4 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
