He was predeceased by: his wife Catherine Lopez Banker; and his parents, Matthew Sr. and Ada Falcon Banker. He is survived by: his son Matthew J. Banker III (Tina) of Tucson, AZ; and his grandchildren, Ashton, Weston and Katlyn Banker. He is also survived by two great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Veterans Assoc. and American Diabetes Assoc.
